About The Grant

The We Are United Initiative builds partnerships and supplies resources to support a range of organizations and community influencers seeking to apply an integrated approach to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS, reduce HIV/AIDS stigma, promote the importance of HIV testing and prevention options, and encourage people living with HIV/AIDS to begin and stay in treatment through creative digital and social media engagement and/or in-person activities.


FUNDING OPPORTUNITY


The We Are United Initiative awards up to $1,000 to support project activities and provide technical assistance to organizations and community influencers during implementation. For the 2025-2026 project year, $45,000 in funding is available. The We Are United Initiative anticipates supporting up to 45 activities led by organizations and community influencers. Organizations are limited to a maximum of two sponsorships per project year.



ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS


  • The Conexiones Positivas Fund and its initiatives intend to support efforts addressing the HIV epidemic among Latine (including Indigenous-Latine and Afro-Latine) communities and will give preference to Latine-led and Latine-serving organizations and influencers headquartered, founded, anchored, and whose primary audience is in the United States as defined by the following criteria:

    • Organizations:

      • Latine-led: Latine leaders hold positions of influence within the organization, meaning 51% of the board and staff are Latine.

      • Latine-serving: Organizations that are committed to serving and empowering Latines as evidenced by:

        • Programmatic services that prioritize and target the needs of Latines.

        • Has a history of serving Latines.

      • Legal Formation: The organization (or verified individual/group) is capable of entering into a legal formal agreement with AIDS United.


If the request form for the We Are United Initiative does not appear, AIDS United has exhausted funds for the project period. AIDS United replenishes funds on October 1 each year.

  • Latine-serving: Organizations that are committed to serving and
    empowering Latines, as evidenced by:


-Programmatic services that prioritize and target the needs of Latines.
-Has a history of serving Latines.


  • For the 2026 cycle, preference will be given to activities based in one or more
    of the Fund's nine priority regions: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia,
    Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Puerto Rico.


  • Current or former grantee partners in any AIDS United funding portfolio must
    be in good standing with respect to reporting and all other grant
    requirements.
