About The Grant

Tyson Foods is committed to helping the communities we serve thrive by strengthening relationships between our operating locations and the locations where our team members and their families live. Grant requests are funded between $500 and $5,000, prioritizing programmatic and geographic coverage and expanding the reach of services.

To better align with our philanthropic and sustainable strategy. Tyson offers 2 different giving programs – Community Giving and Strategic Philanthropy.

COMMUNITY GIVING

  • Relationship management is between the plant and the community.

  • Realigns the relationship between the plant and the nonprofit community by relying on recommendations from plants to fund a community organization.

  • Tyson will fund community grants that range from $5,000-$50,000.

STRATEGIC PHILANTHROPY

  • Larger, more strategic, multi-year investments in national or regional organizations

  • Relationship management between corporate sustainability and organization.

  • Designed to align with achieving our corporate sustainability ambitions (nutritional food access and affordability, and investment in people)

As a protein company that employs a global workforce dedicated to feeding the world, our philanthropic efforts center on two key areas:

Food access and nutrition - Tyson Foods continuously works to improve the nutrition, access and affordability of food, particularly in rural and urban food deserts. Our approach includes investments and strategic partnerships with hunger relief organizations like Feeding America®, a nationwide network of food banks. To join Feeding America in its efforts or to get involved with your local food bank, visit feedingamerica.org.

People and Opportunity - Tyson Foods believes in cultivating opportunities for individuals to ultimately provide for themselves and their families. Our investment goes towards removing obstacles to obtaining and maintaining gainful employment and supporting individuals' growth in their careers.

Organizations should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Show the impact that the organization is making in the community and the need that they are addressing

Show how their programs meet the following criteria:

1. Scalable Solutions—the ability to continuously grow and expand

2. Systemic Impact—addresses a system that disproportionally affects the masses

3. Sustainable Efforts—maintainable and intersectional efforts that consider environmental, social, and economic factors

4. Equitable Practices—steps taken to build healthy, equitable, and resilient practices

5. Transformational Change—a structural change that is significantly impactful
