The Russell Family Foundation (TRFF) supports organizations and community-led efforts working toward a more equitable and environmentally sustainable future. Its grantmaking focuses primarily on environmental education, climate solutions, sustainable and equitable food systems, and community leadership, with a strong geographic emphasis on Washington State and the broader Pacific Northwest.

One of its primary grant programs, Environmental Education, supports organizations providing hands-on outdoor environmental learning opportunities for youth, particularly students in grades 5–12. Priority communities include Pierce, Kitsap, Thurston, Jefferson, Mason, and South King counties in Washington.

The Foundation also supports Food for Climate Solutions, which invests in organizations strengthening regional food systems while addressing climate change. Recent funding has supported regenerative and organic agriculture, farmland stewardship, farmer training and resources, food-system infrastructure, and efforts to make farming more equitable and sustainable.
