About The Grant

The New York Women's Foundation help social entrepreneurs and movement builders hit the ground running. Often the first investors in our women- and gender-expansive people-led community partners, we provide them leverage that attracts support from their community.

Over 95% of our grants support organizations serving low- to moderate-income women, girls, and gender-expansive people facing gender, economic, and racial injustice.

The Foundation has a history of identifying, funding and supporting emerging leaders and organizations for sustained success. We build long-term relationships with our community partners to advance sustainable change, strengthen their organizational capacity, and align ourselves with their change-making initiatives.

At The New York Women’s Foundation, this shows on a practical level through multi-year unrestricted grantmaking, streamlined applications and reporting, and a commitment to building enduring partnerships based on transparency, dialogue, and mutual learning.
