The Laudes Foundation

The Laudes Foundation

The Laudes Foundation, launched in 2020 and based in Amsterdam, is an independent philanthropic foundation born from the legacy of the C&A Foundation. Its mission is to inspire and challenge industries to accelerate the transition toward a climate-positive, fair, and inclusive economy. Through grantmaking, advocacy, and partnerships, it supports systemic change that values people, climate, and nature.

Focus Areas

  • Fashion – Driving innovation and accountability in the global fashion industry to ensure fair labor practices and reduce environmental harm.

  • Built Environment – Promoting the use of sustainable, low-carbon materials and practices in construction to cut embodied carbon and advance regenerative models.

  • Finance & Capital Markets – Shaping investment and capital flows to support climate-positive and socially inclusive economic transitions.

  • Food – Supporting transformation of the food system toward sustainability, equity, and reduced environmental impact.

  • Labour Rights – Ensuring that workers’ voices are heard, their rights are respected, and decent work is prioritized across industries.

  • Narratives – Shaping public dialogue and cultural narratives to drive systemic change and shift mindsets toward just and sustainable futures.

We award grants to organisations with transformative ideas and scalable solutions with the aim of achieving the greatest impact in our global economic system.

Steps to help you navigate the partnership process with Laudes Foundation:

1. Before contacting a member of Laudes Foundation’s team, please review our focus areas and eligibility criteria on our programme pages and Theory of Change.

2. Submit your details through our contact form if your work aligns with our mission, programme areas, and Theory of Change.

3. If we invite you to submit a proposal, complete a light proposal for grants under EUR 100,000 or a full proposal for anything above EUR 100,000.

4. Approval process: Grants up to EUR 500,000 are reviewed by our Management Team. For amounts between EUR 250,000 and less than EUR 500,000, we also consult two external experts.

5. Start of partnership: Upon approval, we will sign a grant agreement outlining the grant activities, intended outcomes, general terms and conditions, as well as the reporting and disbursement schedule.
