About The Grant
The Daniel K. Thorne Foundation seeks to protect and sustain the diversity of the natural and the built environment.
Under the mission statement umbrella, the board will give priority to organizations that are working with the Daniel K. Thorne Foundation on venture philanthropic programs and to organizations engaged in the preservation of imperiled elements of our built and natural environment.

Organizations applying for a grant for the first time are required to submit a brief Letter of Interest to grants@thorne.org before a grant proposal will be entertained.
If the proposal is determined to meet the criteria, the applicant will be invited to submit a full proposal.
Grant proposals are awarded twice yearly in January and July. The proposal submission deadline for each period is December 31 and June 30 respectively.
