About The Grant
Accelerator is a multi-year grant designed to help expand nonprofit low-cost financially sustainable veterinary clinics serving the estimated 50 million companion pets that do not receive adequate vet care in the US and Canada, primarily due to economic constraints. Accelerator Phase 1 grants include business analysis and planning. Phase 2 (multi-year) grants fund implementation.
Who is eligible for this grant?
Nonprofit organizations or municipalities looking to expand a current clinic with additional services or by increasing client capacity that have a desire and the capacity to become or remain sustainable by raising approximately 70% of the clinic operating costs through clinic revenue.
What is funded by this grant?
For the Business Analysis (i.e., Phase 1) Grant, funding can support operations as well as capital improvement costs along with staffing and consultants as needed to support the business analysis and preparation for expansion. For the Implementation Grant (i.e., Phase 2), support is flexible to allow for the appropriate execution of the business plan which could include continued capital improvements, equipment, staffing, and operational support over up to three years.
What is the average grant?
Each grant is individual to an organization’s need. In general, Business Analysis Grants may average $150,000 for one year and Implementation Grants may reach as high as $750,000, depending on the scope and size of the clinic, over 3 years. Please contact your Community Grants Manager to discuss an appropriate request amount for your project.
Accelerator Sustainable Veterinary Care Grants are by invitation only.
Please reach out to your appropriate Grants Manager to discuss consideration for eligibility.
