About The Grant

Nordstrom is dedicated to supporting causes that provide basic needs to youth and their families. We award over $2 million in Community Grants each year across the U.S. as part of this commitment.

We accept grant applications from October 1-31.

Focus Areas:

Education

  • Literacy: until third grade, you learn to read—after third grade, you read to learn. Because of this, literacy is a key part of our education focus.

  • Early Childhood Development: supporting our younger youth in development and educational access.

  • High School Readiness + Graduation: preparing students for high school and life after graduation.

Health Care

  • Preventative Care: providing preventative care to youth and their families.

  • Supportive Health Services: ensuring that youth and their families are supported if a child requires long-term treatment.

Human Services

  • Food: If children are hungry, they can't focus on learning. Lack of food and proper nutrients can also lead to health issues.

  • Shelter: Adequate shelter and clothing are vital to a child's overall well-being.

  • Safety: ensuring that youth and their families are safe.

Nordstrom’s community grants program provides organizations with unrestricted, one-year grants. While the funds are unrestricted, we look to fund organizations that are aligned with our mission to support basic needs for youth and their families.

Nordstrom's contribution to a nonprofit organization implies no further commitment unless specifically stated at the time of initial funding. We welcome your questions or inquiries—please direct these to giving@Nordstrom.com.
