About The Grant
The Names Family Foundation honors the passion of Scott and Evelyn “Sis” Names, who believed that every person deserves to live a healthy life with access to sports, athletics, and play with plenty of opportunities to be physically fit.
We support nonprofit organizations that are transforming lives through sports and healthy lifestyle initiatives. We invest primarily in the Pierce County region and in areas that have a direct link to the Names Family. Together we can impact lives in our community today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
The 2026 grant application process is now open.
Grants will be reviewed at regular quarterly board meetings; you should submit your application by early March, early June, or by the final annual deadline of AUGUST 31st.
Requirements
Only for the Pierce County region and in areas that have a direct link to the Names Family.
Set up an account through their online grantmaking platform. From there you will be prompted to submit a Letter of Inquiry which will include information about the project, timeline, and type of request you are making. After review, you will be notified as to whether you are invited to submit a full application.
After receiving a grant, recipients must complete and sign an agreement and submit a report to the Foundation at the completion of the project; for some recipients, additional reporting may be required.
