Longview Foundation

Longview Foundation

The Longview Foundation supports nonprofit organizations, schools, universities, and educational institutions that work to strengthen global education in the United States. The foundation funds projects that help students and educators develop a deeper understanding of international issues, diverse cultures, and global challenges, preparing young people to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

Categories:

  • State & Districtwide Efforts in Internationalization & Global Competence

the Longview Foundation has supported state level activities designed to stimulate state policy and program initiatives by engaging high-level business leaders, policymakers, and the public in activities that assess the state's relationship to other parts of the world, examine the implications for education policy, and implement appropriate reforms.

  • Global Perspectives in Teacher Preparation and Teacher Professional Development

The foundation will support efforts to expand teachers’ global knowledge and skills. Preference will be given to those teacher preparation institutions that are connected to state or citywide systemic effort in order to have a greater impact and to those using online courses for pre-service education or professional development.

  • Global Ready Classrooms, Studies, and Communities

This program supports strategic, field-building activities that help address gaps in knowledge or capacity.  Projects will also be reviewed for their potential to have a broad impact and remain sustainable beyond the grant period.

  • Global Ready Career Pathways

This grantmaking category supports strategic, field-building efforts that help Career and Technical Education programs strengthen their capacity to integrate global competence and global learning into policy, teaching, and student experiences. Funded projects should address clear gaps in educator development, curriculum, partnerships, and work-based learning.
