About The Grant

The Grey Muzzle Organization makes grants throughout the United States expressly for programs designed to improve the lives of at-risk senior dogs. We invite shelters, rescue groups, sanctuaries, and other nonprofit organizations, whose activities include helping senior dogs, to apply for these grant funds.

The specific program for which you are applying must:

  • Benefit senior dogs exclusively

  • Have well-defined goals

  • Include measurable outcomes

What kinds of programs do we fund?

We fund a range of senior dog programs, including programs specifically promoting the adoption of senior dogs, Senior to Senior programs, long-term foster care, hospice, programs designed to prevent surrender of senior dogs, and programs focused on prevention of or early intervention in diseases that would otherwise be extremely costly to treat. Innovative programs not specifically listed may also be considered.

-Grants typically range from $1,500 to $25,000.

Once your grant is approved

  • You must provide a final report using the Grant Report form which we will provide and participate in a mid-grant phone interview to discuss what’s working, challenges faced, and lessons learned.

  • You must submit quarterly success stories and photographs from the Grey Muzzle-funded program.

  • You must consent to Grey Muzzle using any pictures or stories from your program in our printed or online media and marketing materials.  We always acknowledge our grant recipients when using their pictures or stories.
