About The Grant

FY27 Appropriations & Community Project Funding Request – Rep. Pablo José Hernández

The FY27 Appropriations and Community Project Funding Request process allows eligible organizations to seek federal funding for projects that benefit Puerto Rico. Submitted through the office of Representative Pablo José Hernández, these requests are part of the annual congressional budget process and support initiatives that advance community impact, infrastructure, education, health, and other public priorities.

Funding is not guaranteed and is subject to congressional approval, but this process provides nonprofits and public entities the opportunity to advocate directly for federal investment in projects that serve the public good.

Types of Requests

  • Programmatic Requests: A request for general support or funding for a federal program.

  • Language Requests: A request to add specific language to the annual appropriations bill or its accompanying report, which typically does not include specific funding amounts.

  • Community Project Funding Requests: A congressional program through which local governments and nonprofit organizations request federal funds for a community-impact project.

Forms:

  • The link for submitting a programmatic or a language request is HERE.

  • The link for submitting a community project request (sometimes referred to in the press as an earmark) is HERE.
