Bissell Pet Foundation offers grant opportunities for our Partners for Pets throughout the year. Approved partner organizations may be eligible to apply based on the funding opportunity and your organization’s mission and programs.


How to qualify


Partners for Pets organizations must be recognized by the IRS as a 501(C)(3) nonprofit or public (local government) animal welfare organization within the 50 United States.


  • Shelters

  • Foster-based rescue groups

  • Clinics with low-cost veterinary care or spay/neuter programs

  • Spay/neuter support organizations (TNR, vouchers, etc.)


Your organization must:


  • Actively help to reduce the number of homeless animals in the community through one or more of the following activities: spay/neuter, microchipping, and/or adoption.


  • Be a member in good standing of the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Partners for Pets (P4P) program for at least 6 months (from application approval) prior to submission of a grant application which includes:Be incorporated as a nonprofit agency, recognized by the IRS as tax exempt under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3), and qualified to do business in the state or territory in which they are located, or be a public (local government) entity


  • Be in operation for at least 1 year prior to applying for funding.
    Operate and be located within the 50 United States.


  • Microchip all dogs and cats that are adopted out from the organization.


  • Organizations that declaw cats are not eligible for funding from BISSELL Pet Foundation.


BISSELL Pet Foundation offers grant funding twice a year, in spring and fall, to organizations who have already been accepted into our Partners for Pets program. The application dates are not announced in advance, so if you are interested in filling out a grant application, we recommend frequently checking the Grant Portal for the grant application opening.
