Animal Assistance Foundation

The Animal Assistance Foundation funds animal welfare organizations that help

companion animals in Colorado thrive.

Capital Grants

Our Capital Grants process is open to organizations seeking a grant of more than $100,000 for an asset such as a facility, equipment or proprietary software, with a useful life of more than one year. Proposals seeking funding for assets of these types under the $100,000 level should be submitted under our Organizational Capacity grant category in our annual grants cycle.

Responsive Grants

Responsive Grants provide emergency funding to animal welfare agencies, typically in times of disaster, such as a fire or other events driving additional animal welfare needs in Colorado.

Our emergency grants are available on an ongoing basis, allowing you to apply at any time.

Annual Grant

Our annual grants are designed to help Colorado animal welfare organizations support the care of companion animals across our state.

Categories for this grant include:

General Operating

  • Unrestricted grants designed to support ongoing staff, program, and facility costs
Please note: General Operating requests are only considered for organizations where we have an established funding relationship

Animal Population Programs

  • Spay-neuter, access to care, behavior, in-state animal transfers, and similar programs to help manage pet animal populations across Colorado

Organizational Capacity Programs

  • Staff and Board training, non-capital equipment and repairs, technology needs, and fundraising capacity assistance are examples of past application requests

Opens on September 1 and closes on September 30.
