About The Grant
Natan Fund is a New York–based giving circle that supports innovative, early-stage Jewish and Israeli nonprofit initiatives.
Focus Areas:
Natan’s Confronting Antisemitism
Natan’s Confronting Antisemitism committee requests proposals from organizations that are addressing contemporary antisemitism around the world, with a focus on efforts in North America. The committee is particularly interested in proactive approaches that preempt antisemitism.
Confronting Poverty
Natan’s Confronting Poverty committee requests proposals from organizations that are addressing poverty in their US communities. Though most social service organizations serve a diverse audience, we anticipate that most of the funding will go toward organizations that have a special interest in serving the Jewish community.
Jewish Connections
Natan’s Jewish Connection committee requests proposals from organizations in the US and Canada that are strengthening Jewish identity and community. These grants, offered in partnership with the William Davidson Foundation, are intended to shine a spotlight on emerging approaches or methodologies that are profoundly innovative.
Reimagining Israel Education
Natan’s Reimagining Israel Education (RIE) committee requests proposals from organizations that are committed to nuanced, thoughtful, and inclusive dialogue and education about Israel that is principally directed within the Jewish community.
Israel
Natan, in partnership with ROI Community, invites ROI members in Israel to submit proposals for Natan Israel grants focusing on Resilient and Safe Society and Women's Leadership, Safety, and Equality. Grants will support bold social
entrepreneurs, community builders, and early-stage programs that strengthen Israeli society and/or advance women’s leadership and safety in Israel in innovative ways.
What kinds of organizations does Natan Fund
Natan is primarily interested in supporting emerging organizations (including startups) that have not yet gained traction with major donors and that are innovative in their approach to Natan's funding areas. All first time grantees must have an annual operating budget of less than US$1.5 million.
Requirements
Natan can only support organizations with tax-exempt status in their home country or organizations/projects with tax-exempt fiscal sponsors.
