AstraZeneca ACT on Health Equity

The US ACT on Health Equity: Community Solutions Challenge (CSC) is advancing health equity through the support of community-based nonprofit programming that prioritizes the social, cultural and linguistic needs of communities that have experienced barriers to care and opportunity.

Program Focus:

Community-based programs must cover one of the following areas:

  • Nutrition and Food Security

Address nutrition as a social determinant of health, including reducing food insecurity, providing comprehensive nutritional education, and improving access to food to improve health outcomes.

  • Healthcare Access

Improve access to quality healthcare by addressing barriers, including health education, and patient-centered support that helps individuals navigate and reach care.

  • Education

Enhance access to quality educational and career readiness opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics for underserved communities.

  • Climate and Nature

Addresses the interconnectedness of environmental and human health by reducing environmental impacts, improving air and water quality, expanding access to green spaces, and advancing nature-based solutions, with a focus on those disproportionately affected by environmental challenges and injustices.

Community Focus: Programs that address health disparities among communities that have experienced barriers to care and opportunity and prioritize their social, cultural, and linguistic needs.

Program Geographies: 501(C) organizations in 17 states and territories are invited to apply for funding to support programs focused within one or more communities. Funding is subject to local regulations. Consideration will only be given to the programs in the select states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Texas, Virginia.
